RapidKeen is proud to offer high-quality brass round bars in diameters ranging from 6mm (0.236") to 15mm (0.591"), manufactured to the strictest industry standards. Our brass bars are available in two primary grades: C27200 Yellow Brass and C28000 Muntz Metal, both renowned for their exceptional combination of strength, corrosion resistance, formability, and aesthetic appeal. We also provide limited quantities of other brass alloys upon request to meet your specific project requirements.
Each brass round bar is precision-engineered to ensure consistent diameter, straightness, and surface finish throughout its length. Our bars are ideal for a wide range of applications across various industries, including manufacturing, construction, marine, electrical, plumbing, and decorative arts. Whether you need material for CNC machining, fabrication, or general purpose use, RapidKeen brass round bars deliver reliable performance and excellent value.
C27200, also known as 63/37 brass or yellow brass, is one of the most widely used copper-zinc alloys due to its excellent balance of properties. It contains approximately 63% copper and 37% zinc, with trace amounts of other elements. This alloy offers superior ductility, good strength, and excellent corrosion resistance, making it suitable for a vast array of applications.
| Element | Minimum (%) | Maximum (%) |
|---|---|---|
| Copper (Cu) | 62.0 | 65.0 |
| Lead (Pb) | - | 0.07 |
| Iron (Fe) | - | 0.07 |
| Zinc (Zn) | Remainder | |
Note: Copper plus sum of named elements shall be 99.7% minimum.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Density | 8.48 g/cm³ (0.306 lb/in³) |
| Melting Point Range | 905-935°C (1660-1715°F) |
| Electrical Conductivity | 28% IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard) |
| Thermal Conductivity | 120 W/m·K (69.4 Btu/ft·h·°F) |
| Coefficient of Thermal Expansion | 19.9 × 10⁻⁶/°C (11.1 × 10⁻⁶/°F) |
| Modulus of Elasticity | 110 GPa (16 × 10⁶ psi) |
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Tensile Strength | 400-500 MPa (58,000-72,500 psi) |
| Yield Strength (0.5% Extension) | 320-380 MPa (46,400-55,100 psi) |
| Elongation in 50mm (1.969") | 20-30% |
| Hardness (Brinell) | 100-130 BHN |
| Hardness (Rockwell B) | 60-75 HRB |
Note: Mechanical properties vary with diameter and temper. Annealed (O61) temper offers higher ductility but lower strength.
C28000, commonly known as Muntz Metal or 60/40 brass, is an alpha-beta brass alloy containing approximately 60% copper and 40% zinc. This higher zinc content gives C28000 greater strength and hardness compared to C27200, while still maintaining good formability and excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in marine environments. It is an economical choice for applications requiring higher strength and durability.
| Element | Minimum (%) | Maximum (%) |
|---|---|---|
| Copper (Cu) | 59.0 | 62.0 |
| Lead (Pb) | - | 0.30 |
| Iron (Fe) | - | 0.07 |
| Zinc (Zn) | Remainder | |
Note: Copper plus sum of named elements shall be 99.7% minimum.

| Yield Strength (0.5% Extension) | 90-355 MPa (13,050-51,500 psi) |
| Elongation in 50mm (1.969") | 20-45% |
| Hardness (Brinell) | 85-160 BHN |
| Hardness (Rockwell B) | 50-85 HRB |
Note: Mechanical properties vary with diameter and processing method. Annealed material offers maximum ductility.
In addition to our primary C27200 and C28000 grades, RapidKeen can supply limited quantities of other brass alloys upon special request. These include:
