RapidKeen brass foil is a thin, flat-rolled copper-zinc material supplied below 0.15 mm, in both rolled coils (brass foil roll / brass foil coil) and cut-to-length flat sheets. Sometimes called brass shim stock or thin brass sheet, it combines steady electrical conductivity, natural corrosion resistance and a bright gold-like finish, and it punches, etches, forms and solders cleanly for electronics, hardware and decorative work.
Brass foil roll / brass coil form for continuous stamping, slitting and automated feeding, slit to the width you need.
Flat brass foil pieces cut from coil for hand work, lay-up, shim packs and small-batch fabrication.
Every foil gauge is quoted in microns / mm below 0.15 mm, so very thin, uniform stock is easy to specify.
Our standard brass foil is produced from alloy 260 (C26000), widely known as cartridge brass or yellow brass — the most common and economical 70/30 brass for thin-gauge work. Additional yellow brass alloys such as 268 / 272 can be arranged. Choose the temper that matches your forming job:
Natural mill finish; PVC protection or a brushed / polished surface can be added on request. Manufactured to the ASTM B36 brass product standard.
Because thin brass foil is easy to punch, etch, bend and solder, it works equally well in functional electronic parts — shielding, contacts, flexible connectors and precision brass shim stock — and in visible pieces such as nameplates, lamp trim, furniture inlay and craft projects that need a real brass look.

Send the thickness, width and length (or coil weight) your project needs and brass foil is slit to width or cut to length accordingly. Standard gauges ship from stock, while custom widths, tempers or finishes are produced to order based on fabrication complexity.
Processing: in-stock standard brass foil orders are dispatched within 1–5 business days. Custom-cut or made-to-order foil needs extra processing time that increases with fabrication difficulty.
Transit: after the order ships, delivery normally takes 7–15 days.
Custom brass foil is cut or processed to your exact dimensions. Once cutting or fabrication has started, a custom order cannot be cancelled, returned or exchanged. Please confirm thickness, alloy, temper, width and length before ordering.
“Brass shim stock” is the common workshop name for very thin brass foil used as spacers and wear shims — the same material, named for its shimming use. Both are available as rolls or flat sheets.
The difference is thickness and form. Brass foil is the thinnest flat-rolled grade (under 0.15 mm) and is often coiled; thicker, wider flat material is sold as brass sheet. Narrow coiled material in between is ordered as brass strip.
Use soft annealed foil for deep forming and wrapping, half-hard (H02) for general stamping, and hard foil for spring contacts and flat shims that must stay rigid.
Yes — brass foil rolls are slit to your requested width, and flat sheets can be cut to your length for shim packs, blanks and production runs.
You may return items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
